Katie Holmes is Looking Single and Ready to Mingle

By July 6, 2012

Katie Holmes Elle August 2012Only six weeks before the shocking announcement of her divorce from Tom Cruise, actress Katie Holmes sat down for a chat with Elle magazine, where she dropped an oh-so-subtle hint that her wedded bliss was nearing its end. In an extract from the editorial, when the yummy mummy was asked about Tom, she replied:

"He has been Tom Cruise for 30 years. I know who I am and where I am and where I want to go, so I want to focus on that."

Katie took everyone by surprise with her unexpected decision to file for divorce from Tom, but if this interview is anything to go by, their relationship had been precarious for some time. She's now seeking full custody of their daughter, Suri, and possibly a slice of his irresistible assets.

In the future, she hopes to concentrate more on her career, which she insists hasn't been helped along by her marriage. "Things are not handed to anyone. If anything, you work a little bit harder when you're in such visible circumstances," she declared.

Like her BFF Victoria Beckham, Katie Holmes is slowly building a mini fashion empire, starting with her label Holmes & Yang. In a blatant show of self-promotion, she wears  a pair of Holmes & Yang pants on the Elle cover, as well as Tom Ford tank and suspenders.

She's looking seriously single and ready to mingle and, as she tells the magazine, now that she's in her 30s: "I definitely feel much more comfortable in my own skin. I feel sexier. I think in my twenties -- it's like you're trying too hard to figure everything out. . . I'm starting to come into my own. It's like a new phase."

So it seems Katie's finally found her voice, and a fierce wardrobe to match, which you can totally jack for a fraction of the cost.
