I generally only to turn to Forbes in the interest of monitoring the rich lists -- you know, so I can make like Holly Golightly at dinner parties and know my potential suitors -- but just today, a piece by Beanstalk founder Michael Stone caught my eye as it discusses the shaping of the celebrity clothing line and, more specifically, how Kimora Lee Simmons was not one of its founding fathers.
This viewpoint stems from an interview with MSN's "The Grio," in which Kimora gushes over how she "layed fashion blueprint for Beyonce, Sean John, and Jessica Simpson." I'm sorry girl, as fabulous as you are (and trust me, you are the epitome of fabulous), I think ex-hubby Russell deserves a little more credit in the creation of Phat Farm and Baby Phat.
It's an interesting read and history lesson (did you know that Cheryl Tiegs launched a Sears clothing line way back in 1981?), so head here to give it your undivided attention. Oh, and while we're on the topic of fabulousity, have you been watching her new show, Kimora: House of Fab?
