Find the Perfect Jeans for Your Shape

From , former About.com Guide

If you're like us then you probably hold a good pair of jeans in pretty high esteem. But what is a good pair of jeans? We all know that there are expensive pairs aplenty, but what about those booty-lifting-hip-slimming-thigh-taming ones we all crave! To find out, we sought out the advice of Paige Premium Denim designer Paige Adams-Geller to discover the perfect pair for every shape.

Petite

It's not short, it's petite -- we should know! For those us not built like Gisele, Paige suggests looking for a straighter leg. She says: “A slimmer silhouette elongates the leg and body.” Stay away from fading along the thighs -- it only shortens your frame, something us shorties like to avoid. The darker the wash, the longer your legs will look. Catwalk here we come!

Booty

The best way to avoid –- how do we put this delicately –- butt cleavage is with a higher-rise in the back. No matter how low you go, your most precious parts will remain well hidden -– if that’s your intention! And go for a cleaner back pocket, it's slimming on a fuller derriere.

Tummy

Face it -– most of us weren't born with wash-board flat abs. But that doesn't mean we can't fake a flat stomach. "Chose a jean with a wider waist-band, it draws eyes to a smaller waist," says Paige. Also, it smoothes any lumps and bumps, creating a cleaner line under clothes.

Curvy

There's nothing sexier than an hour-glass figure -- think Jennifer Lopez and Scarlett Johansson. In order to balance it out, Paige suggests wearing jeans with a little flare on the bottom like a boot cut or wide leg. “You can never go wrong with a boot cut,” says Paige.
